Police also recovered Rs 42 lakh out of Rs 50 lakh they had taken as ransom from the businessman Karthikai Selvan for the release of the children.
Selvan gave the ransom amount to the gang members on the instructions of the police, who followed the gang incognito, Police Commissioner Mahesh Kumar said.
He said one Ravi, whose father was working in the business firm of Selvan was upset when he refused to give money for the treatment of his father and had taken revenge by kidnapping the children.
Police, who followed the gang, later arrested them, Mahesh Kumar said.
