The incident took place on Sherkot road late last night, Circle Officer Dhampur Harendra Yadav said today.
All the victims were residents of Moradabad. They were returning after attending a marriage.
According to Yadav, the van driver was apparently trying to overtake another vehicle when the collision occurred.
All the seven people died on the spot.
He said that the injured were taken to a district hospital and their condition is stated to be serious.
