Seven percent additional DA to GIC employees

The Board of Directors of Himachal Pradesh General Industries Corporation today approved release of seven per cent additional installment of dearness allowance to its employees in cash with the next month's salary.
The BOD also decided for the first time that the Corporation would pay 5 per cent dividend to the Government and share holders of the Corporation.
The Corporation decided to donate Rs 31 lakh towards Chief Minister Relief Fund for the poor and deprived of the society.
Industries minister Mukesh Agnihotri, who presided over the meeting, said that the Corporation registered a sale of Rs 42.84 crore from April 2014 to December 2014.
He further said that the performance of country liquor bottling plants at Mehatpur and Parwanoo has been good during the year as they had lifted more quantity of country liquor than 18 per cent quota earmarked by the state Government for the corporation.
He directed the Corporation to explore the possibilities of weaving silk cloth on lease basis through private party keeping in view the expansion of sales by Nurpur Silk Mill and said that some private party would be engaged only for the operation and the control would remain with the Corporation.
The minister said that the government would ensure that all the functional posts in the Corporation were filled on priority so that work could not suffer for want of staff.
Later, Agnihotri presiding over the meeting of BOD of HP State Industrial Development Corporation, said that the Corporation is expected to earn a profit Rs 4.98 crore during the financial year 2015-16.
