Sexual abuse charge: Panel allows Sarita to produce evidence

A day after she stuck to her claim that she was sexually abused, the judicial commission probing the solar panel scam today allowed prime accused Saritha S Nair to produce details of the alleged incidents and supporting documentary evidences in sealed covers.
Continuing her deposition before the Justice G Sivarajan commission, Sarita said she was not ready for making an open statement as it would also affect her privacy.
Responding to a query by the panel, the accused had yesterday said she had given a statement before the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (Ernakulam) N V Raju alleging that some people had sexually abused her.

In the resumed deposition, Saritha said if the commission arranged a special confidential sitting or take steps to protect her privacy, she was ready to 'cooperate'. Saritha, however, said she has difficulties in making public a letter she had written while she was lodged in jail in connection with solar panel scam.
The letter contains names of people who allegedly sexually abused her.
Her advocate said she prefers to give details in two sealed covers -- one about sexual harassments and another its documentary evidences--rather than giving a statement before the commission where advocates are present. Agreeing with her demand, the Commission told her to produce the details before it at least by February 4. Yesterday, she had also alleged beofore the Commission that it was at the insistence of a senior Congress leader close to Chandy that she filed a sexual harassment case against party MLA A P Abdullakutty.

The scam pertains to alleged duping of several persons to the tune of crores of rupees by Sarita and her accomplice Biju Radhakrishnan by offering solar panel solutions.
