Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming promotional tour in the US for his film 'Happy New Year' has generated a lot of excitement not only among his Indian and South Asians fans but also native Americans.
It is nearly after a decade that the 'Chennai Express' star is coming to the US to perform live.
Titled 'Slam' (sound, light, action and movie), the tour will also have performances by SRK's 'Happy New Year' co-stars Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachhan, Boman Irani besides Madhuri Dikshit and Malaika Arora Khan.
"We have been waiting for his live performance for years now. I become a great fan of his after my friend forced me to watch 'My Name is Khan'. He is a great actor," Richard White, who lives in a suburb of Washington DC, told PTI in an interview.
Richard and his group of friends have purchased tickets for the Jiffy Lube Live amphitheatre, in Virginia, Washington DC, where the stars would be performing live on September 21.
The stars will also perform in Houston (September 19), New Jersey (September 20), Chicago (September 26) and San Jose in California (September 28). They will also travel to Vancouver in Canada on September 27.
"This would be the show of the century," Manish Sood of Intense Entertainment, which will host the event in Washington DC said.
The Greater Washington National Capital Region though has relatively less Indian-American population as compared to the other cities, the event at Jiffy Lube Live is expected to be watched by more than 10,000 people.
"People from as far as Florida, North Carolina and Pennsylvania are coming to attend the event. We are very very excited to hold such a big event," Sood added.
Organisers and promoters of the 'SLAM! The Tour' in the US said that the stars have made incredible effort to make this a memorable show, which people would remember for years.
Shah Rukh, 48, would have a flying entry into the concert, said Kanu Chauhan host of the New Jersey-New York event, which he said is expected to be attended by nearly 20,000 people.
