Batra's last film, 2012 Kareena Kapoor-starrer romantic comedy 'Ek Mai Hu Aur Ek Tu', also his debut, was produced by Johar under his banner Dharma Productions.
Johar, 42, who is impressed by Batra's script for the untitled movie, took to Twitter to share the news.
Rarely does a filmmaker write a super script in 2 months....Shakunbatra's new family film just got greenlit and cast! Details coming up..." he tweeted.
The young director shared his excitement about the film and said he would disclose more details soon.
