Shanties gutted as LPG cylinder explodes

At least four shanties were today gutted as a LPG gas cylinder exploded at Nather Bagan lane under the limits of Jorabagan police station in the northern part of the city this evening, the police said.
Seven fire tenders were pressed into service to fight the blaze, they said adding, there was no casualty or injury.
The situation was brought under control in about 90 minutes.
In another incident, fire engulfed a portion of the seventh floor of AG Tower on Park Street.
Three fire tenders brought the situation under control within half-an-hour, the police said.
There was no casualty or injury, they said adding, the causes of the fire or extent of damages were yet to be ascertained.
