At the meeting of the Board of Governors of IIM Bangalore held on February 11, the Chairperson, Mukesh D Ambani, expressed his decision to step down, IIM-B said in a release.
The Board, accordingly, appointed Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw as the Chairperson of the IIM-B Board of Governors with effect from February 11, it added.
"Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Chairman and Managing Director, Biocon Limited, has been a member of the IIM-B Board for the past several years. She is the first woman Chairperson of any IIM Board", it said.
