Sheoran, Vibhute win gold in Gun for Glory Shooting C'ship

Akhil Sheoran and Jitendra Vibhute won the gold medals on offer in men's 10m rifle and 10m pistol events, respectively, at the 4th Gun for Glory Shooting Championship here today.
In the 10m rifle, Uttar Pradesh's Sheoran, 20, won the gold medal scoring 208.3. He beat B Mithilesh of Tamil Nadu. Mithilesh, 14, was the youngest among all the eight shooters but still easily scored 205.7 and grabbed the silver medal. The bronze medal went to Pune's Fulchand Bangar who scored 162.5.
In the qualification round of the same event, the leading 8 were - Akhil Sheoran with 621.4 points, B. Mithilesh with 619.0 points, Prashant (Har) with 618.4 points, Fulchand Bangar (Rail) 618.0 points, Swapnil Kusale (Mah) with 616.7 points, Ranjeet Singh (Army) with 615.4 points, Aribam Sharma (Army) with 615.4 points, and Rajinder Singh (Army) with 615.1 points.

In 10m pistol (ISSF) men, Jitendra Vibhute of Railways clinched the gold medal with a score of 198.6 followed by Amit Pilaniya (MP) who scored 197.6. The bronze medal was won by Manjit (Army) who scored 175.5.
In this event, the leading 8 were - Manjit (Army) with 576 points, Kisto Lang (Army) with 572 points, Amit Kumar Pilaniya (MP) with 572 points, Vinay Patil (Mah) with 570 points, Pardeep (Army) with 568 points, Jitendra Vibhute (Rail) with 568 points, Jai Singh (Army) with 568 points and Rajendra Bagul (Mah) with 567 points.
World Cup player Ayonika Paul, without any doubt, has managed to top the chart in the 10m Rifle (ISSF) women's event with 417.3 points. Maharashtra's Pooja Ghatkar, who is also a student of Gun for Glory Shooting Academy, took the second place in the qualification round with 414.4 points. Mampi Das was third followed by Shriyanka Sadangi, Vedangi Tulzapurkar, Neha Chaphekar, Anjali Bhagwat and Priya Agarwal.
