A case was registered today against a Shirdi civic body official and his wife on charge of allegedly amassing wealth disproportionate to their known sources of income, an ACB official said.
Shirdi Municipal Council chief accountant Murlidhar Desale and his wife Rekha allegedly amassed properties worth Rs 17,30,618 between December 1994 and December 2010, the Anti-Corruption Bureau stated in a release.
A case was registered against the Desales under the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Indian Penal Code (IPC), said Kishor Choudhari, Deputy Superintendent of Police, ACB, Ahmednagar unit.
Further investigation is on.
