Kapur, who shot 68 on the first day, added a one-under 69 on the second to move up to three-under 137 and Tied-18th, up four places.
Gaganjeet Bhullar (69-69) in Tied-29th place and Arjun Atwal (70-70) at Tied-49th were the only other Indians making the cut.

Meanwhile, Spaniard Rafa Cabrera Bello raced three shots clear at the halfway stage with Masters winner Danny Willet amongst those in the chasing pack.

Asian Tour regular Sam Brazel of Australia sank an eagle en route to a fine 66 for second place on his own while Willet mounted his title charge with a 66 as well which put him in a share of third place, five off the pace.

Australia's Scott Hend moved a step closer towards securing the prestigious Asian Tour Order of Merit title with a 68, leaving him in joint 18th position.
