"Kumar is an arrogant person who believes in the mantra of 'I' ... There is no place in JD(U) for anyone who does not nod to the chief minister's views," Tiwari said in a rejoinder to state unit JD(U) chief Bashistha Narayan Singh.
The disgruntled JD(U) MP said it was Kumar's 'big ego' that came in the way of his nomination for a second term and two other innocent leaders (N K Singh and Sabir Ali) met the same fate for which he felt sorry.
He said he had apprised Singh about his inability to contest the Lok Sabha polls. N K Singh too was not expected to contest the polls against the sitting independent MP from Banka - Putul Singh, the widow of former union minister Digvijay Singh.
But still the party went ahead with its decision to field Singh and him for the general election, Tiwari said and claimed that Sabir Ali was brought from LJP on the promise of giving him a second term in Rajya Sabha - a promise on which Kumar had reneged upon. "It speaks volumes about his arrogance."
"Will you explain why Digvijay Singh was denied the ticket despite being a tall leader in JD(U)?" Tiwari asked the state party chief.
Singh had contested as an independent candidate and won. After his untimely death his wife Putul Singh contested and retained the seat.
Earlier, Tiwari had dashed off a terse letter to Singh in which he lashed out at Kumar for denying second term to him and the other two MPs and replacing them with three new faces - Ramanath Thakur, son of the former chief minister Karpoori Thakur; Kahkashan Parveen and Haribansh, a senior journalist.
