Shopkeeper shot at, injured by robbers in UP

A 27-year-old man was shot at and injured allegedly by two robbers when he was returning home from his shop in Shamli district, police said today.

The incident took place last evening near Khandarawli village. The robbers also looted Rs 55,000 from the victim, Superintendent of Police (SP) Dev Ranjan Verma said.

The two armed men intercepted his car and shot at him after looting the cash, the officer said.

The injured shopkeeper has been hospitalised and a search launched to nab the robbers, the SP said.
