In a written reply, Minister of State for Urban Development Deepa Dasmunshi said, " There is a shortage of housing in Delhi. The Master Plan for Delhi envisages construction of 14 lakhs houses upto 2021."
Dasmunshi said that the draft policy on public-private partnership in land assembly and development in Delhi, envisages housing requirement to be met through private sector.
In response to another query, the minister said that under the Rohini Residential scheme, 1981 of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), 774 people could not be alloted plots of required sizes due to non-availability.
