Shots fired at cable operators' meet

Shots were fired at a local meeting of cable operators here following a heated argument over payment of commission, police said.
The incident took place at the meeting which one Sarbjit Singh Raju, the MD of Fast Way Network, was holding with local cable operators.
The dispute was reportedly triggered by Raju's advice to the local cable operators that they would first have to deposit the monthly collection to his company before claiming commission.
The local cable operators raised objections over Raju's announcement and said they would deposit the money with Fast Way only after keeping their commission.
As an altercation broke out, one of the local operators, identified as one Shiv, allegedly pulled out a gun and fired a shot in the air.

That prompted Raju's Punjab Police security guard to fire in the air with his AK 47 rifle.
No one was reportedly hurt in the incident.
A case has been registered against Shiv and a few others in connection with the incident.
