Show cause notice issued for substandard practical copies

The Punjab government today issued show cause notices to three firms regarding the alleged supply of "substandard" practical copies and also asked them to submit their replies in seven days.
While informing this here today, an official spokesperson of the Punjab Education department said that strict action will be initiated against these firms after receiving replies from them regarding the allegations.
He further informed that the department gave the approval to provide quality practical copies on prescribed rates to the students of government schools from September 1, 2012 to August 31, 2013.
However, it was found that that the copies provided to the students were substandard, both from technical and printing aspects.
