SHRM to host Asia's biggest HR Tech Conference in April

Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), will host Asia's biggest HR Tech Conference on 20-21 April 2017, which will bring together more than 850 delegates from organisations across all sectors.
The two day conference will include highly engaging knowledge sessions, panel discussions, keynote addresses, and study/Report launches, wherein industry experts will share their thoughts and discuss ways to bridge the gap between HR and technology.
"In the face of rapidly evolving technology, it is important for HR practitioners to connect with each other, share experiences, and engage in meaningful discussions to further harness and adopt technology for better execution of HR responsibilities," SHRM India Operations CEO Achal Khanna said.

Coursera, HEC Paris launch fully online intl degree prog OMIE * Coursera and HEC Paris have partnered to launch their first fully online international degree programme.
The programme is designed for present and future business leaders who wish to drive innovation within their organisations or launch new ventures.
Students will work in teams over a six-month period on a project of choice, from the planning stages to bringing the idea to life. Successful graduates will be able to move their respective project into its next phase by applying for seed funding from HEC Paris.
PayPal, Vistarooms partner for online payment to book hotels
* Digital payment firm PayPal has a partnered with Vistarooms.Com to enable foreigners travelling to India book hotels in the country.
"Vistarooms.Com will help us further add to the existing list of travel and tourism partners that includes OYO rooms and Makemytrip. Additionally, our seller protection programme helps merchants safeguard their online services from frauds," PayPal Director for Large Merchants in India Megha Thareja Tyagi said in a statement today.
Vistarooms.Com has over 1,000 hotels across India, Sri Lanka and Maldives and they will be using the automated invoicing capability of PayPal.
"Our partnership with PayPal allows us to provide further payment flexibility to both local and international travellers," Vista Rooms Co-Founder Ankita Sheth said.

Beach cleaning exercise carried out at VO Chidambaranar Port * A beach cleaning exercise was taken up at VO Chidambaranar Port Trust as a part of a drive to improve cleanliness and eliminate open defecation in the country.
The exercise was carried out with the help of around 200 students from Kamaraj College, Tuticorin and with participation from S Natarajan, Deputy Chairman, VO Chidambaranar Port Trust, Heads of Departments and senior officers of the Port, Ministry of Shipping said in a statement.
A grand procession was also organised by the Port in the residential complex of the Port, the statement said adding around 300 Port school children participated in the procession emphasising the importance of cleanliness through public address systems and placards.

Videocon d2h partners with Sony Pictures for SonyLIV service
DTH service provider Videocon d2h has entered into a deal with Sony Pictures Networks to give its subscribers access to 'Video On Demand' service SonyLIV.
The partnership will enable Videocon d2h's HD Smart Connect Set Top Box customers to access content available on SonyLIV app, a company statement said.
SonyLIV will provide movies, strong line-up of events across all sports, shows, music, TV Shows and much more, it added.
Commenting on the development Videocon d2h Executive Chairman Saurabh Dhoot said:"We are delighted to partner with Sony LIV. This collaboration would strengthen the entertainment apps available on our HD Smart Connect and provide our customers with a large range of entertainment."

Great Eastern Shipping's arm acquires stake in GGES * Great Eastern Shipping Co Ltd today announced that its unit has completed the acquisition of shares of Greatship Global Energy Services Pte Ltd.
"Greatship (India) Ltd (GIL), a wholly owned-subsidiary of the company, has completed the acquisition of shares of Greatship Global Energy Services (GGES) from Greatship Global Holdings Ltd (GGHL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of GIL, thereby making GGES the direct 100 per cent wholly-owned subsidiary of GIL w.E.F. March 28, 2017," the company said in a filing to BSE.
