Shubhankar Sharma carded an eve par 72 in the final round to finish tied 25th at the Asian Development Tour (ADT) PGM Vascory Templer Park Championship here today.
Sharma, who has been playing regularly on ADT Tour had three bogeys on front nine from fourth to sixth, but fought back with three birdies on seventh, 10th and 12th to total three-under 285 with rounds of 72, 69, 72 and 72.
This was the fourth cut he had made in six starts.
Malaysia's top amateur Gavin Kyle Green became the first amateur to win on the Asian Development Tour (ADT) at the PGM Vascory Templer Park Championship.
The big-hitting Green, who is playing on a sponsor's invitation in his very first ADT event this week, closed with a flawless eight-under-par 64 for a sensational 11-stroke victory over countryman Airil Rizman at the RM250,000 (approximately USD 80,000) ADT event.
As amateurs are not eligible to the prize money on offer, Airil will take home the winner's prize purse of USD 13,597, courtesy of finishing as the best-placed professional.
The 20-year-old Green also set a new 72-hole scoring record on the ADT with his commanding four-day total of 26-under-par 262 at the Templer Park Country Club.
Airil signed for his best round of 65 this week to take second place while Thailand's Kwanchai Tannin finished three shots back in third on 276 at the PGM Vascory Templer Park Championship, which is the eighth stop of the ADT this season.
Defending champion and reigning Order of Merit winner Nicholas Fung of Malaysia slipped to tied-15th after closing with a disappointing 73.
This season, the ADT will reward the top five players on the final Order of Merit with playing rights for the 2015 Asian Tour season.
