Reacting to the statement made by former MP Navjot Singh Sidhu against AAP, senior AAP leader and in-charge of party's affairs in Punjab, Sanjay Singh today said the former should reveal "complete truth" on the issue of his talks with the party.
In a statement released from Jhaande village, where National Convener of AAP and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is camping during his Punjab tour, Singh said when he went to Sidhu's residence, "he (Sidhu) forcibly said he wanted to finish the corrupt regime of Badals in Punjab and would support AAP in the battle against 'Adharma by Dharma'".
Cricketer-turned-politician Sidhu claimed at a press conference in Chandigarh today that Kejriwal was speaking half-truth and wanted him only to campaign and not contest the upcoming Punjab polls.
Singh, however, said Sidhu "never expressed" his desire to contest the elections.
"Sidhu never expressed that he was interested to contest the election and wanted the post of Chief Minister for him. When apprised with the clause of AAP's constitution on fielding only one member of a family in poll fray, Sidhu replied that he was not a selfish person to contest the election from his wife's (Amritsar-East) assembly segment. He also said that he had got a message from God to support AAP to save Punjab," he claimed.
Singh said AAP is determined to fight against the alleged corrupt regime of the Badals, "but in the today's press conference, Sidhu has given signals that his fourth front would contest against AAP".
"Even a kid of Punjab knows that AAP is the only political alternative to defeat SAD-BJP and Congress to save Punjab," Singh claimed, adding if any "Fourth Front" comes in poll fray now, "it would extend direct benefit to Badals and people would not tolerate any front which would try to create hindrance in throwing Badals out of power."
Singh said, "Although, Sidhu made mockery of Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi assembly polls, but Kejriwal forgot all these in the larger interest of Punjab".
He said people of Punjab know very well who were trying to "extend political benefit to whom and with what intention".
"AAP is strong enough to take on any political front, which may take birth just three months before assembly polls," he said.
Singh said more attacks on AAP by rivals, makes the party more strong, "which was already proved in Delhi assembly polls where party made a historic victory by winning 67 out of 70 seats, even after the scathing political attacks by both Congress and BJP".
