Siemens bags Rs 78-cr job order from PowerGrid

Siemens today said it has won an order worth about Rs 78 crore from Power Grid Corp (PGCIL) for setting up a transmission system in Bhuj.
Under the mandate, Siemens will design, supply, install and commission 7X500 MVA (mega volt amp), 765/400/33 kv, phase auto-transformers in Bhuj, the company said in a BSE filing.
"The project will boost the power handling capacity of (PGCIL) and create safe, reliable transmission infrastructure in western India. The project also promote environment protection as these transformers will transmit power generated from renewable sources," said Siemens Executive Vice-President and Head, Energy Management Division, Harald Griem in the statement.

Future Generali launches two online travel insurance products * Future Generali India Insurance (FGII), a joint venture between Future Group and Generali, today said it has launched two online travel insurance products for the international travellers - Easy Travel Worldwide and Easy Travel Schengen.
The plans are designed keeping in mind the uncertainties of today's times, right from loss of documents to sudden illness while on a foreign land, the company said in a statement.
Both products include cashless claim settlement, universal international free phone number (UIFN), worldwide emergency, medical and travel assistance along with the flexibility to choose from different plans in each product category as per one's requirement, it added.

Tata Sky launches educational service
* Direct-to-home operator Tata Sky today said it has launched an educational service, Tata Sky Classroom, in association with Tata ClassEdge, a provider of technology-based education solutions to schools.
"This interactive service will be available to all subscribers and is intended to benefit children from classes V-VIII with lessons mapped to their syllabus," the company said in a statement.
EXL appoints Mike Toma as CTO
* BPO major EXL has appointed Mike Toma as its Chief Technology Officer.
Toma's expertise will provide leadership to expand EXL's advanced technology assets and further develop the company's digital strategy, EXL said in a statement today.
He joins EXL after nearly 13 years with ADP, where he served as the Senior Vice President and CIO.
Toma will be based out of EXL's headquarters in New York and will report to Chief Executive Officer, Rohit Kapoor.

Indian Stainless Steel Houseware Show in Delhi from July 15 * Over 10,000 participants from India, China, Japan among others are expected to participate in the Indian Stainless Steel Houseware Show and Pipe Expo 2016, scheduled from July 15 in the national capital.
The main objective of this exhibition is to promote the domestic stainless steel industry as well as that across the globe.
The event is being organised by Steel Market Info and over 10,000 visitors from India, China, Turkey, UAE, Japan, Egypt, Ecuador, USA, Saudi Arab, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh are expected to participate, Steel Market Info Chief Editor R L Choudhary said.
The show will be inaugurated by Steel Minister Chaudhary Birender Singh, he added.

QuEST acquires HASK Engineering and Management * IT firm QuEST Global has acquired Singapore-based HASK Engineering and Management for an undisclosed amount.
This strategic acquisition will increase QuEST Global's strategic delivery footprint in Singapore as well as augment our engineering excellence in the power generation and oil and gas domains, QuEST said in a statement today.
