SIFFCY festival to begin from December 5

Smile International Film Festival for Children & Youth (SIFFCY) is set to return to the city for its second edition this December with a bouquet of over 100 films.
The week-long festival, starting December 5, will be taking place at Siri Fort Auditorium.
The festival's advisory board consists of big directors like Nagesh Kukunoor, Hansal Mehta, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Resul Pookutty, Jahnu Barua and Santosh Sivan.
The jury panel boasts of names like Sannette Naeye, Festival Director of Cinekid-Netherlands - widely acclaimed as World's biggest children film festival - with Fusun Eriksen, Advisor-Danish Cultural Institute among others.
Touted as the only children's film festival in India, the event will offer a potpurri of features, short-movies, documentaries and films made by children.
"On one hand we work with underprivileged children and their families, and on the other hand under the concept of 'civic driven change' we try sensitizing privileged masses, especially children through mediums like SIFFCY," Santanu Mishra, Festival Chairman SIFFCY said.
Santanu said the focus of the festival this year is "to encourage and involve children especially from the underprivileged background, in the process of filmmaking."
"We will be conducting workshops on filmmaking, art design, cinematography and storytelling with well-known personalities from the industry," he added.
The films are placed under five different categories, which consits of International competition, The Yellow Carpet offering special screening of selected great films, 70mm Smile will show best meaningful films from across the globe and will be non-competitive, Next-Gen will put out films made by film students and Take one will include films made by children.
Having produced close to 60 short films and documentaries, Smile Foundation has also produced a national award-winning feature film titled 'I am Kalam'.
