The Puducherry unit of the Indian Ex-Services League conducted a silent procession here Saturday as a mark of respect to the 40 CRPF personnel killed in the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir.
President of the League Sergeant (retired) N Mohan said in a press release here that the members of the league, the Puducherry Armed Forces Veteran Association and the Air Force Association participated in the rally.
Wreaths were placed at the war memorial at the end of the procession and silence was observed by the participants.
Mohan said the participants have appealed to the central and state governments to provide safety and security to the soldiers and also necessary assistance to the families of the jawans who died in the terror attack in Pulwama district on February 14.
