Taking weak cues from overseas markets silver prices fell by Rs 148 to Rs 41,090 per kg in futures trade today.
In futures trading at the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in December was trading lower by Rs 148, or 0.36 per cent, at Rs 41,090 per kg in a business turnover of 126 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in far-month March 2017 contracts declined by Rs 78, or 0.19 per cent, to Rs 41,746 per kg in a business volume of four lots.
In the international market, silver fell 0.59 per cent to USD 16.96 an ounce in New York yesterday.
Traders said the fall in silver prices was largely in line with a weak trend in precious metals at global markets as the stronger dollar, which climbed to 14-year highs eroded demand for haven assets.
