Silver prices traded marginally higher by 0.32 per cent to Rs 39,925 per kg in futures market today as speculators raised their bets despite a weak trend in the global market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in July month went up by Rs 128, or 0.32 per cent to Rs 39,925 per kg in business turnover of 528 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in September month contract was trading higher by Rs 112, or 0.28 per cent to Rs 40,433 per kg in 2 lots.
Market analysts said speculative positions created by participants mainly influenced silver futures prices here but a weak trend overseas limited the gains.
Meanwhile, silver fell 0.21 per cent to USD 16.41 an ounce in Singapore.
