Gudiwada II Town Circle Inspector K B G Thilak said that while the police were checking vehicles at Gudivada checkpost, they found a suitcase containing silver ornaments, weighing 25 kg, which is worth around Rs 12 lakh.
A gold and silver trader Parvesh Jain was found carrying silver ornaments to Narasapuram Town (West Godavari District) without any valid documents, he said.
The police has handed over the silver ornaments to the Income Tax Department, sources said.
