Silver prices fell by Rs 150 to Rs 41,555 per kg in futures trade today as speculators cut down their bets amid a weak trend overseas.
Silver for delivery in far-month May was trading down by Rs 150, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 41,555 per kg in futures trading at the Multi Commodity Exchange. It clocked a business volume of two lots.
The white metal for delivery in March fell by Rs 102 to trade at Rs 40,920 per kg in a business turnover of 1,398 lots.
Market analysts said, offloading of positions by speculators in sync with a weak trend in global market, mainly pulled down silver prices at futures trade here.
In the international market, silver traded 0.16 per cent lower at USD 16.69 an ounce in Singapore.
