The Similipal Tiger Reserve (STR) will remain off limits for visitors, starting from today, in view of the monsoon, a senior forest official said.
The tiger reserve is closed during the rainy season every year, STR Field Director M Mohan said.
"The date of reopening of STR will be notified after the monsoon ends," he added.
The STR, spread over an area of 2,750 sq km, attracts thousands of domestic and foreign tourists due to its varied flora and fauna, including the Black Melanistic Royal Bengal Tiger, and breathtaking waterfalls.
