Singer Sophie Hawkins pregnant with second child at 50

American singer Sophie B Hawkins is expecting her second child at the age of 50 and the single mother feels this is the right time to welcome a baby in her life.
The 'As I Lay Me Down' hitmaker gave birth to son Dashiell in 2008. She is not worried about any physical risks to her second child owing to her age, reported Us magazine.
"Dashiell is increasingly independent of me, and yet he's still very engaged in his childhood.
"Dashiell and I have had the magical twosome for six adventurous years, that intense focus of an only child and single mother, and we're ready to invite a new and unknown dynamic into our lives," she said.

Always wanting to be a mother, she admits she froze 15 embryos when she was 31. She is pregnant with a baby girl.
The singer said her age has made her calmer and wiser.
"Being 50 is actually an amazing age to have a second child because I am more wise, calm, humorous, appreciative, simple and clear. I'm not running around looking for love and validation. I live each day full of gratitude, and that's good for my children," she said.
