Six killed in road accident in Guwahati

Six people, including three of a family, were killed in a road accident in Jalukbari area here today, police said.

The driver, who was speeding, lost control of the vehicle which then turned turtle and fell into a ditch.

All six people in the car, including two children and the driver, died on the spot, a police officer said.

The deceased have been identified as Bharat Das, wife Rina Das and son Jyotiraj Das along with three others

Shankar Das, Dipamoni Das and Tora Das.

They were on their way to Guwahati from Simalutola in Goalpara, the officer said.

The bodies have been sent for postmortem to Guwahati Medical College Hospital, he added.
