The company had posted a net profit for the period of Rs 484.67 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal, SJVN said in a BSE filing.
However, total revenue from operations (net) declined to Rs 740.76 crore, over Rs 776.16 crore in the year-ago period.
The total expenses increased to Rs 277.98 crore, over Rs 266.44 crore in the corresponding quarter of previous fiscal.
The present installed capacity of SJVN, which is engaged in generation and sale of power, is 1,959.6 mw, comprising of 1,912 mw hydro and 47.6 mw wind power, according to its website.
