Skeletal remains found in pond

Police recovered some human
skeletal remains from a deserted pond in the southern part of the city today and have begun investigations.
A senior Kolkata Police officer said acting on a call from a local, a police team reached the spot at Brahmapur and found the bones.
"Some human bones have been recovered from a deserted pond at Brahmapur under Bansdroni police station. We are unsure of the identity and the bones have been sent for post mortem. Inquiry is on," the officer said.
Police are also finding out whether any complaint was lodged in police stations of the adjacent areas, he said.

"We are also questioning the owner of the pond who stays in the house beside it. We are also checking whether anybody drowned in the pond," the officer said.
