Vasu, a resident of village Bakli, whose skeletal remains was recovered yesterday, was kidnapped on July 14 by unidentified persons while he was returning to his home from school by an e-rickshaw.
Bijnor SP Umesh Kumar Srivastava said the police have arrested Vasu's cousin Raj Kumar, who, along with his three accomplices, had kidnapped the boy on July 14 and later murdered him, allegedly because he was angry with Vasu's father Sunil who had insulted his mother.
The four had taken Vasu to a secluded place and throttled him with his school tie and then buried him, Srivastava said.
Police on Saturday, arrested Raj Kumar and three of his accomplices Rahul, Lokesh and Sonu, all residents of village Mohandia under Mandawar police station, Srivastava said.
After two days of his murder, the kidnappers had demanded Rs 50 lakh in ransom in lieu of letting the boy go unharmed.
