Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) had earlier sought government advise on the safety of players appearing in Chennai.
Aluthgamage said Lankan players won't be allowed to go without safety guarantees.
Nishantha Ranatunga, the SLC secretary said that they have sought the external affairs ministry advise. He said the players would be advised depending on the MEA instructions.
There are 13 Sri Lankan players who have signed up to play for different franchises in the sixth edition of the IPL.
