Sleeping pills meant for prisoner seized; 2 held

In a strange haul, officials at the Central Prison here today seized sleeping pills kept in a snack packet brought by two persons who came to meet a Goondas Act detenu and arrested them.
Police said they found 19 strong dose sleeping pills along with the snacks in the two packets when they checked them.
The two who came to meet Manikandan (30), detained under the stringent act, were arrested, they said adding investigations were on to find out why they attempted to supply the sleeping pills.
