There was some respite from cold wave conditions in Rajasthan today as the state witnessed a rise in temperature even as the popular hill station Mount Abu remained coldest place here with a minimum of 4.2 degree Celsius, a MeT report said.
The temperature has risen at all places in the state by one to four degrees as a bright sun and clear sky greeted people, it said.
Fog in neighbouring states of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh caused poor visibility leading to delay of 17 North-Western Railway trains and road transportation, an official spokesman said.
Seventeen trains were running late by 30 minutes to six and a half hours, two trains were rescheduled due to fog, and two other trains on Alwar-Khairtal route were cancelled, the spokesman said.
Varanasi-Jodhpur train is running late by six and a half hours followed by Gorakhpur-Hisar by 6:25 hours, Hawara- Jodhpur and New Tansukhia-Lalsagar were late by 3:45 hours.
In the plains, Sikar recorded a minimum of 6.5 degree Celsius, followed by Churu 7.1, Pilani 7.6, Udaipur 8.0, Jaipur 8.6, Ganganagar 8.1, Jodhpur 9.0, Jaisalmer 10.2, Barmer 11.4, and Ajmer 12 degree Celsius.
Elsewhere, the minimum temperature varied between 11 to 13 degree Celsius.
The temperature, especially during night is likely to remain stable as no new system of Western Disturbance or Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation is approaching the state in next 24 hours, a forecast said.
