Smack worth Rs 90 lakh seized in MP; one arrested

A consignment of smack weighing 840 gram and valued at around Rs 90 lakh was today seized from a drug peddler near here.
The seizure was made under Barkheda police station area and the alleged drug peddler was identified as Yakub Khan, who has been arrested.
Acting on a tip off, a police team intercepted motorbike-borne Khan, a resident of Mandsaur district, near Chambal river barrier and seized 840 gram of smack from him, District Superintendent of Police A Sharma told PTI.
The 35-year-old was on his way to deliver the contraband, valued at around Rs 90 lakh in international drug market, to Dang area in neighbouring Rajasthan from Sitamou in Mandsaur, he said.

"After interrogating Yakub we have launched a hunt for other accused involved in the crime," the SP said.
Khan has been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
