Small sugar surges on sustained demand

Small sugar prices firmed up further at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to sustained demand from millers and bulk consumer.
While, medium sugar prices declined following subdued offtake from stockists and retailers.
Small sugar (S-30) shot-up by Rs 30 per quintal to Rs 3,660/3,782 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 3,660/3,752.
However, medium sugar (M-30) fell by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 3,762/3,872 as compared to Rs 3,762/3,862 previously.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,660/3,782 (Rs 3,660/3,752).
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,762/3,872 (Rs 3,762/3,862).
