Smriti Irani to visit Amethi on Sep 20

Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani will arrive here for a day on September 20 to distribute 50,000 saplings in the constituency.
Irani, who had unsuccessfully contested from here against Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, will participate as a chief guest in sapling distribution programmes in Amethi and Gauriganj Assembly segments, minister's PRO Vijay Gupta told PTI.
He said that Irani will give away 50,000 saplings during the function, organised by a Bareilly-based NGO.
The minister will also address similar programmes in three other Assembly segments - Tiloi, Jagdishpur (R) and Salon (R) - during her next visit scheduled to be held in January, he said.

Despite her defeat from this constituency, she is repeatedly visiting here to make her public contact in a broader way, which may affect the political equations here, Senior party leader Keshav Prasad Singh said.
