Smuggled Chinese goods seized from Assam bound trains

In a joint operation, Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Customs department have seized smuggled Chinese goods worth around Rs five lakh from two Assam-bound Rajdhani trains here, RPF officials said today.
A total of 13 cartons, containing smuggled computer parts and mobile phones made in China were recoverd in raids in two Dibrugarh-bound Rajdhani trains, having numbers 12424 and 12436, they said.
The cartons were hidden under the berths and in the bed roll box, they added.
The combine search operation was led by Katihar Rail Police and Customs team, Inspector RPF Vinod Kumar said.
