In wake of a massive sexual harassment expose, which has engulfed names such as media mogul Harvey Weinstein and actor Kevin Spacey, Orlando Bloom has said that society is unwilling to accept sexual abuse any longer.
The 40-year-old actor, who plays a man who was sexually abused in his childhood in his next film "Romans", said the mask has been pulled off the faces of many people in Hollywood.
"I think that this has been going on for a very long time and it's obviously an incredibly sensitive subject. I think that it's a shakedown. It's a time of real revelation and a lot of people are being revealed for who they've been and what they are and society is now standing up. It's time.
"When we're talking about the abuse of power from any individual toward another, I think it's a horrific act. It's something that society is no longer willing to accept," Bloom told The Hollywood Reporter.
The "Pirates of the Caribbean" star hopes his upcoming movie will help give voice to the victims of sexual harassment.
"I hope that this film will give men who have experienced sexual abuse, a safe place or a feeling of being able to relate. I think there's a real feeling of being alone in that circumstance," he said.
