29-year-old Ruchi Sharma's body was found at the couple's residence in Vijay Nagar area here, police said.
The woman's husband Mohit initially tried to mislead the police that his wife had slipped in the bathroom but on searching the house a blood-stained cricket bat was recovered, Superintendent of Police Ajay Pal Sharma said.
It seems Mohit and Ruchi had a heated argument this morning during which Mohit in a fit of anger battered Ruchi's head with a cricket bat in the bathroom, he added.
"Mohit has been detained and his interrogation is on," the officer said.
The couple have a son who had gone to school when the incident took place.
