Wei De Lin grabbed the opening set 6-4 but the second was stretched to a tie-breaker as the lower-ranked Solanki refused to give up before squaring it with a 7-1 win.
There was no looking back for Solanki thereafter and he played some outstanding rally to win the decider 6-2.
Qualifiers from India had a bad day today as Amartanth Arora, Balaji Lakshmanan and Raghav Jaisinghani exited the draw in the opening round without even winning a set.
