The solar scam, that has brought the Congress-led UDF Government in Kerala under a cloud, is expected to turn stormy in the assembly session resuming tomorrow after its adjournment a fortnight back amid vehement protests by opposition LDF demanding resignation of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.
Dramatic events that happened during the inter-session period like arrest and remand of Chandy's close personal aide Tenny Joppan and TV actress Shalu Menon as well as surfacing of phone call details of prime accused Saritha Nair with some of the ministers will be providing ammunition to the LDF to take on the treasury benches.
The scam pertains to fraudulent deals running into crores of rupees pushed by Saritha Nair and her accomplice Biju Radkahrisnan, opening a can of worms with more and more stories of cheating by the duo surfacing day-by-day.
According to the LDF sources, the Front would not budge from its demand for Chandy's resignation and a judicial probe covering the entire gamut of the scandal.
The way-out options being considered by the UDF includes referring the case to CBI, Front sources said.
The scam also has its reflection on the internal equations in Congress in the state as the telephone call details gathered by investigators showed that several ministers and political leaders had made calls to Saritha, apart from getting frequent calls from her.
The assembly was adjourned on June 24 after passing grants through guillotine route in the wake of the opposition uproar demanding Chandy's resignation.
