The cycling competition is organised by the state government's Department of Sports and Youth Welfare, and will coincide with the forthcoming Tawang Festival, 2017.
"The initiative of the Arunachal Pradesh Government to organise the Tawang Challenge cycling competition to promote the Tawang Festival is very praiseworthy. This will definitely help in giving a new dimension to tourism of the state as well as the entire North Eastern region," Sonowal said.
The chief minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims at giving a new boost to the growth of North East through implementation of the Act East Policy, and all the states in the region must join hands with the Centre for fulfilling his vision.
