Sonowal seeks people's cooperation

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today said people should cooperate make government schemes successful and their peaceful coexistence will accelerate growth in the state.
Sonowal, who handed over financial aid to the next of kin of those killed and to the injured at Pengeri urged the people of Barak and Brahmaputra valleys, hills and plains to stay connected with the government and help it in all its endeavours.
He handed over cheques of Rs 5 lakh each to the next of the kin of 11 persons killed when a high tension electric wire fell on them at Pengeri in April this year and Rs 50,000 each to eight persons injured in the incident.

Government is committed to safeguard people belonging to all sections and will keep working "relentlessly" for it, he said and assured it would take steps to solve problems faced by the people, he said.
The people had given an overwhelming mandate to the BJP government and therefore it is its duty to work for fulfilling the aims and aspirations of the people.
The government is committed to fulfill all its promises in phases though a liability of Rs 17000 crore was inherited by it from the previous regime.
Immediate action would be taken if anybody is found to be indulging in corrupt practices, he added.
