At a function here for launching projects under the Centre's Namami Gange programme, Union minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, BJP state chief Keshav Prasad Maurya and Allahabad MP Shyama Charan Gupta accused the Akhilesh Yadav administration of "not cooperating with the Centre which has launched so many schemes which will directly benefit Uttar Pradesh".
Maurya also targeted state minister and senior SP leader Azam Khan, accusing him of having "issued instructions to engineers of various departments of the state government that they must not turn up at more than a hundred functions being held across the state to launch Namami Gange projects".
Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, the Fatehpur MP, lambasted the SP government for "making all efforts to ensure the failure of every measure of the Centre which is expected to strike a chord with the people of Uttar Pradesh".
"The ruling party here will get a befitting reply next year," she said referring to the upcoming Assembly polls.
