Hitting back at Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, senior SP leader Ambika Chaudhary today accused the Centre of not sharing information regarding presence of naxalites at Jawahar Bagh in Mathura and demanded Singh's resignation.
Talking to reporters, Chaudhary blamed BJP for indulging in "politics over dead bodies".
He alleged that naxalites from Jharkhand, Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha were staying at Jawahar Bagh along with the encroachers.
"The intelligence network of the Centre, it is obvious, must be in the know of things. Then, why did it not share the information with the state government. Therefore, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh should resign," said Chaudhary.
He further alleged that relatives of Singh were trying to disturb the atmosphere in Bishara village in Greater Noida where they were conspiring to hold a 'mahapanchayat'.
Chaudhary said the state government has sent a factual report to the Centre on the Jawahar Bagh incident and it would soon be known, who was funding the encroachers.
Clashes between the police and encroachers left 29 people dead, including an SP and an SHO, at Mathura's Jawahar Bagh last week.
BJP leaders, including Singh and its national president Amit Shah, had targeted the SP government in Uttar Pradesh over the incident.
