SP leader's son commits suicide

The 45-year-old son of a Samajwadi Party leader allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance, police said today.
Amar Chand, son of Minister of State Ram Sewak Yadav, committed suicide by consuming poison yesterday at his home in Gangapura village in Basrehar area here, Circle officer AK Dixit said.
He was rushed to the hospital, where he died during the treatment, he said.
Ram Sewak has a Minister of State status in the Akhilesh Yadav government and is also the Chairman of Cane Development Institute.
SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and senior party leaders have condoled Chand's death.
SP National General Secretary Ram Gopal Yadav also visited the aggrieved family to pay his tributes.
