Taking pot shots at BJP for allegedly making false promises to gain power, Samajwadi Party today said his party would compare the development works in the constituencies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and SP Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav during one year's time.
"Those who had come to power making promises of all kinds have not been able to fulfill even one of those during eight months time," Uttar Pradesh's PWD Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav today told newspersons here.
"The development works undertaken in Varanasi and Azamgarh, the Lok Sabha constituency of Narendra Modi and Mulayam Singh Yadav respectively, during one year's time will be compared by the party," Yadav said.
Yadav said that allround development of the district like construction of bridges and roads among other things are being taken up by the state government.
To a question, Yadav said that there was shortage of fertiliser in the state but the wrong policies of the Central government led to its dearth in some districts for which two lakh metric tonnes fertiliser was being purchased.
The SP chief is scheduled to arrive here on February 6, first time after his election from the seat in the Lok Sabha elections last year. Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav will also accompany him.
The SP chief, who will lay the foundation stone for the revival of Sathiyava sugar mill at the cost of Rs 400 crore, will also address a rally during his visit.
