Further, insufficient supplies from producing regions also added support to cardamom prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in September rose by Rs 7.20, or 0.64 per cent, to Rs 1,138.80 per kg in a business turnover of just one lot.
Similarly, spice for delivery in October gained Rs 3.80, or 0.32 per cent, to Rs 1,176 per kg in 12 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in cardamom futures to uptick in domestic as well as exports demand in the spot market against tight stocks position on restricted arrivals from producing belts.
